Level Measurement

To reduce waste, extend product lifespans, we design and manufacture level products that are built to last, maintainable and repairable. This gives the added benefit of a lower cost of ownership.

Having purchased a range of level products from Meggitt (Previously Alan Cobham Engineering) back in 2008, we continue to design and manufacture products in the UK, and where possible use British Foundries and local component suppliers.

Our range includes the Cobham float switches, instrument chambers, mechanical level gauges and level transmitters. To complement these we also offer some 3rd party electronic level measurement solutions including additional radar, capacitance, ultrasonic and conductivity products.

These can be installed into an instrument chamber or level gauge to provide an all in one bypass level measurement solution, or with one of our control panels for a complete control system.

Level Transmitters

Guided Wave Radar

Guided Wave Radar, or TDR, is one of the most versatile methods of level measurement giving reliable results in both liquids and solids, even in applications with foam, condensation or vapours. 

Reed Level Transmitter

A robust, low cost, float operated level transmitter for liquid level measurement where accuracy of 5-10mm in a tank is sufficient. As the level rises and falls, a magnet in the float operates switches in the tube, giving an output which corresponds to the level. 

MLG Bridle

Used in situations where it is beneficial to have a visual indication in a separate bridle or chamber to allow for isolation, maintenance and in safety critical applications where you prefer to have a mechanical technology to backup electronic readings. 

Hydrostatic Level Transmitters

Offering a range that includes side mounted pressure transmitters with chemical seals for storage tanks and top mounted submersible pressure transmitters for tanks, wells, shafts and bore holes. This technology particularly suits abrasive and aggressive applications or those in difficult to reach places.

Other Transmitters 

In addition to our own ranges of level transmitters we also stock and source products from major multinational manufacturers where applications dictate that an alternative technology would work better or the application is more complicated and requires a more highly configurable or accurate solution.

Level Switches

Float Switch

The most proven type of level switch on the market, the simple and robust technology has stood the test of time in a wide range of point switching applications and can work independently of foaming/bubbles, conductivity, pressure, temperature, vibration, vapours, condensation and boiling effects. 

Capacitance Switch

Suitable for both liquids and solids, capacitance probes are proven in applications with aggressive contents and those which are prone to media build up occurring.  The switches are reliable for use where vapours occur and also in tanks with agitators.

Vibrating Switch

Used for point level measurement with both liquids and granular or powdery solids, usually as an overfill protection device or a low level indicator. Self-monitoring capabilities make this switch well suited to Safety Integrated Level (SIL) applications where customers need to meet the highest industry standards.

We also stock and source additional level switch products from major multinational manufacturers where applications dictate that an alternative technology would work better or the application is more complicated and requires a more highly configurable or accurate solution.

Level Gauges

Magnetic Level Gauge

The MLG level gauge is a simple level indicator installed in its own bypass chamber to provide a local display of the contents within a fluid storage tank. Our robust chambers are manufactured to high standards and for most applications should match the life of the storage tank. 

Magnetic Level Indicators

Our magnet operated level indicators were originally designed for the RNLI as a low cost mechanical dip rod method of determining level in fluid tanks onboard boats with limited space. This range was developed further for land based storage tanks containing other liquids including chemicals and fuels.

Sight Gauges

To compliment our own range of magnetic level gauges and indicators we supply a range of sight gauges to allow direct viewing of liquid level within a tank. We offer reflex gauges and transparent gauges, the clear class in the transparent gauges allow the operator to view liquid level directly.
